Glaucoma is a condition that affects not only your vision, but your overall lifestyle. This is a disease that cannot be easily detected at an early stage due to the absence of any visible symptoms. In a lot of cases, patients have found out that they have glaucoma only at a stage when the damage to their optic nerve has been extreme and almost irreversible.
A challenge that faces the study and research of glaucoma is its nature to be hidden. The damage caused to the nerve and the retina occurs through a building of intraocular pressure, often resulting in high pressure known as ocular hypertension.
If left untreated, ocular hypertension may lead to deterioration of the optic nerve to such an extent, that permanent blindness is inevitable.
Glaucoma treatment, however, is easily available upon early detection. While late detection of the disease may lead to a need for surgical procedures, when caught early glaucoma drugs such as Bimatoprost 0.01 in the form of Lumigan eye drops can helps control the extent of damage that glaucoma can cause to the eyes.
How Lumigan works:
Since glaucoma is a disease that affects the eyes through gradual deterioration that cannot be easily felt, it becomes challenging to find a permanent way to treat the condition. However, the side effects of glaucoma can be easily kept at bay by using glaucoma treatment that lowers intraocular pressure in the eye. You can do this by using Bimatoprost 0.01.
Bimatoprost 0.01 is a glaucoma drug that is used to treat patients with wide-angle glaucoma. Lumigan eye drops are a form of glaucoma treatment that contains Bimatoprost 0.01. You only have to use Lumigan eye drops once a day and it to lower the pressure buildup in your eye.
The effects of Lumigan are felt within four hours after you first use it and continue working for up to 12 hours. If used daily until your doctor advises you to stop, you will successfully be keeping the side effects of glaucoma in check.
Since Bimatoprost is a highly powerful glaucoma drug, the side effects of glaucoma medication may include redness of the eye, blurry vision and some discomfort. While these should not be long-lasting, please consult your doctor if the side effects of lumigan eye drops persist.
Speaking from experience:
Marshall Adams is a 40 year old man who was diagnosed with glaucoma two years ago. “I had no idea myself that I my vision was weakening”, he says. “I went in to my doctor for a regular annual eye test and that was when he told me that I had an early form of glaucoma due to ocular hypertension.”
“From what I knew of glaucoma, I believed that my eyesight was doomed,” he continues. “My doctor came to my rescue immediately. He assured me, telling me that he had caught the glaucoma early and so would be able to treat it with just simple glaucoma drugs. This is when he prescribed Lumigan eye drops to me.”
“I felt some itchiness and saw redness form around my eye on the first use, but after that, there were no other side-effects. I did notice that my eyelashes were significantly thicker, but my doctor told me this was one of the more common side effects of lumigan eye drops. I have been using the drops ever since and can safely say that glaucoma worries me no more.”
As this post explained, glaucoma can be difficult to diagnose, and often is a disease that flies under the radar until it becomes too hard to cure. Glaucoma and affect your vision and even your lifestyle as it becomes more severe. These eye drops and treatment will hopefully be a way to catch and treat it before surgery is required. http://www.northcentraleye.com/procedures-glaucoma.html
